The Gold Mine Fine Jewelry & Gifts, Inc.

Store Owners:
Angie & Bill Warren
Angie & Bill opened The Gold Mine Fine Jewelry & Gifts in 1993 with the desire to serve their customers with a different philosphy - "One of a Kind Jewelry for One of a Kind Customers"! Their goal has always been to offer unique, one of a kind jewelry & services that other jewelers didn't offer. From the start, Bill always said that he didn't want to carry the same jewelry that you see in every mall, big box store or traditional jeweler. Custom made jewelry from "scratch" is the couple's forte'. Read on below to learn about each of them as well as the key store employees at The Gold Mine!
Angie Warren - began her career in the ladies apparel industry and later became a liscensed cosmetologist. She has a "classy" design flair and after marrying Bill in 1989, was able to put that flair to use in their very own jewelry store. Angie enjoys doing the store's display work and decorating. Clients often comment on how attractively different the store is from other jewelers. Never satisfied to rest on her laurels, Angie is always changing the look of the store whether in overall layout or just simple case displays. She also enjoys buying jewelry in which she looks for unique, one of a kind items to please the store's large customer list. Angie has been named "Hudson Woman of the Year" and is a highly sought for her layout/designing advice.
Bill Warren - began his jewelry career while hunting gemstones as a kid. His family owned the land on which the now famous "Hiddenite Emeralds" were discovered in Hiddenite, NC. Collecting rocks & gems spurred an interest in jewelry. In 1984, Bill took a job as a master goldsmith's apprentice, learning all aspects of jewelry repair, casting and design work. From there he went on to become salesperson and later store manager for one of North Carolina's largest privately owned jewelry chains and was credited for being a top manager and salesperson. Bill also studied to become a lapidary (gemcutter) and has cut many beautiful gemstones for himself & clients. Always wanting to grow and striving to be better, he later studied watch repair, jewelry appraising and is the only "Registered Gemologist/Jewelry Appraiser" in the county where his store is located. Opening the jewelry store in 1993, he has developed not only a large regional client base but also a worldwide following by partnering with the world's largest online auction house, "Ebay" and has become a Ebay Powerseller! Clients come to seek out Bill's advice on designing new jewelry & repair from the world over. Bill is a past president of The North Carolina Jeweler's Association. He has been recognized as a leading businessman, named "Man of the Year" by the town of Hudson and along with Angie, The Gold Mine has been named "Hudson Business of the Year"...the first time this honor had ever been bestowed.
Danny Wilson - after being in the service industry for many years, Danny came to work at The Gold Mine in 2003. Bill and Danny were childhood friends who went to school together and had grown up with similar work ethic and values. Danny quickly learned all aspects of store operation and has been named the store's assistant manager. Often times, it is Danny who will greet you on the telephone or help you with a sales transaction in the store. Danny was also recently awarded the title of Seiko Master Class Watch Technician after careful training and examination by the Seiko Watch Company. Bill Warren, an experienced watch repairman trained Danny as a watch repair apprentice for several years and was pleased to let Danny take over all watch repair operations at The Gold Mine. Another passion of Danny's is diamonds and you'll not find a more knowledgeable diamond professional anywhere.
